Is Microsoft Too Harsh When Banning?

It seems that Microsoft has the will power to ban people for the most stupid reasons in the whole entire world. There was a report not too long ago stating that Lesbians had gotten banned from Xbox Live. Well, like any other average person they contacted Microsoft support and brought it down to a day.
There are way too many cases to list so I’ll just get right down to the subject. Is Microsoft Too Harsh When Banning? My answer is yes and is also yes for quite a few people in this world. Even for swearing during a match or even in party chat you have a chance of getting yourself banned no matter what. I could understand if you were threatening someone and calling them a n**** but for swearing because you got killed? Come on Microsoft…why do you have to be so harsh to your users?
I can understand to a certain degree why Microsoft bans for “certain” reasons but the other reasons can be justified. When they supposedly banned over 1 million users because they have a modded console, now that is a real reason. That not only effects Microsoft’s product but also makes the game developers loose money. They always seem to have a thing at lesbians though. There have been numerous stories stating that women have been banned from Xbox Live just because they are lesbians. Also men who are gay have also been banned because of what they have in their “bio” that Microsoft finds offensive. How is being gay offensive? Last time I checked they are normal human beings like you and me and shouldn’t be treated no differently. Is Microsoft trying to control the way people think/do? If that is the case, they should stop. Microsoft would have no luck whatsoever trying to change people for who they are and what they do.
Microsoft thinks that just because they have a large numbers of subscribers, that they can do what ever they want and find a excuse to do so. Maybe the people who work for Microsoft on the Xbox Live banning department were being bored and decided to band a person but make it so that they have a legitimate excuse so that they don’t get fired.
What is your opinion on this? Is Microsoft being too harsh when banning? Feel free to post in the comments what your opinion is.
