Activision
Activision was founded in October 1, 1979 and ever since has been pushing out games that deliver the best quality to all of the gamers around the globe. From Activision’s Call of Duty series and the well-known Guitar Hero series. The List of both of the games is just massive.
Guitar Hero:
Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero II
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Guitar Hero World Tour
Guitar Hero 5
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Guitar Hero: Van Halen
Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
Guitar Hero: On Tour
Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades
Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits
DJ Hero
Band Hero
All I can say there is “WOW”. The Guitar Hero series is almost as big as the well-known Final Fantasy series yet Final Fantasy started out long before they invented the “Guitar Controller”. This tells us something that is quite unique about Activision. That is when Activision has a good running series out on store shelves; they will do all that it takes to make it a popular franchise to make it grow. When the “Guitar Hero” came out, people were a bit confused with this new way to play a music game but once the thread caught on everyone wanted it thus expanding the franchise.
Call of Duty:
Call of Duty
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 7 (Leaked, not confirmed yet)
Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized
That is a total of 13 games which to quite a few people is way too much. But each new Call of Duty game improved on something to make it even better for the general public views. Activision always makes a good chunk of money just selling the Call of Duty series. They barely even need to advertise, they already know that quite a few people will buy the game and play it for hours on end. There is one game out of the franchise that literally sold millions of copies on the very first day worldwide. That game is “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″.
When Activision merged with Blizzard to become “Activision Blizzard”, people were stunned. This announcement had come out of nowhere and unexpectedly. This was a smart move on Activision’s part because when two major gaming companies work together, they can create something so massive and wonderful it will sell like hot cakes (Meaning that it will sell a lot of copies which means a ton of money).
Activision loves to create games for everyone to enjoy. If you enjoy skateboarding, music gimmicks and basically anything else, Activision will not disappoint you.
That is how Activision=Win. It shows that no matter what the franchise is, you can always make a ton of money off it and be successful in the future.
