Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4

You might think that Call of duty Modern warfare is just another pointless shooter. Well, you should think again. Just like the title says this is Modern Warfare.

Design 9.6

The way that Infinity Ward designed the look and feel of this game is just amazing. If any damage is done to the buildings in the game it will always show. When you shoot a building it does look like to a certain extent that you did shoot it but all it shows is a black hole and not a little hole that you could see another person on the other side of the building. All of the guns and vehicles in the game are nearly exact replicas of the models that we see today. Each gun has its own unique design and texture which makes every gun unique. The only thing I really didn’t like was when something exploded near trees or someone moved into them, they did not move at all. You probably won’t notice it too often but if you are nitpicky then it might bug you. It don’t matter who’s side you are on in this game, the way they designed people to look looks great. You can easily tell if someone is from the Russian army or the American army. The briefings for the missions are very detailed as you would see in real life.

Story 9.8

The first thing that happens is that you start off at the training grounds. This is very helpful for people who have no experience in fps. All of the basics you need to know to beat the game are practically taught to you. After you pass the training grounds you are sent to a ship to gather some Intel. When you have completed the mission, all of the other missions are basically either: Grabbing Intel or finding out where people are. It feels a lot like when you are in the army finding out what’s going on and what to do next. Most of the missions are very exciting and have a lot of purpose to them, in the end it will help you improve for the very last difficult mission. Every time that you die in a mission you get a nice little quote related to the game. Intel in the game can be very difficult to find but once you get a good look around the mission it doesn’t become a hassle.

Gameplay 8.9

The controls in this game are very easy to use and make a lot of sense. When it comes to knifing though if someone is looking around using the right stick, they might accidently click it in and it might screw up everything. It is very easy to pick up guns in the game and you will hardly have a hard time trying to pick up another weapon that is on top a different weapon. This happens on very rare occasions but it does occur. The same method is used to pick up Intel, although Intel is never piled up on each other but it uses the same button (X) to pick it up. Infinity Ward did a great job setting up the online for Modern Warfare. You start off at the basic level 0 and when you get to level 55 you can prestige. This means that if you want to prestige you get all of the goals/cameos/equipments on your guns taken away for you. When you do prestige you start back at level 0 you get a new symbol. The main reason for getting a max level 10 prestige is for basically having bragging rights.

Presentation 8.4

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is a game where you can be in the army and use a variety of weapons. You can choose sides and shoot down either the good guys or the bad guys. The online is still massive to this day; there are a ton of people playing and having fun at the same time. Infinity Ward did a really good job of putting everything together. This game will be a great game to play every now and then for years to come.

Comments

  1. Awesome game, mainly cause you get to shoot alot of arabs…jk. But seriously, alot of action and sweet multiplayer with decent upgrades and “leveling”.
