Hi,

what would you think of letting registered users write reviews for the site? I mean all the greatest gaming sites on the Internet like Bitmob (or is IGN?) do it. I mean come on, you don't have to be a journalist or do any research to write a review cuz everyone knows that everyone has the right to his own opinion.

(I know the actual word is cause. I wrote 'cuz' to appeal to all the young hip folks out there. Ok, I know the real word is b-e-c-a-u-s-e, but as long as I'm going to write like a girl, might as well use the sort verion. That's what Paris Hilton does).

Anyway, I know I would LOVE to write a game review (just one) and then use it to forge a career in journalism. Besides, we all know that the Internet = democracy. Hey, just look at what the internet did for North Korean in the last 20 years. Case closed!

So how about it? It's not like anyone who does all of this gets paid anyway.

Actually right now basically any user can write a review but they need to know their grammer and spell check and have ACTUALLY played the game.

Great news. Due to your positive response, I decided to write a letter to Ubisoft asking them for a game to review for the site.

I mailed it friday morning and can't wait for their reply. Crossing my fingers. Wish me luck. I'll keep you posted when I get the game in my hands.

If you want, I can make a PDF of the letter I sent to Ubisoft and you can use it as a template for your letters to other publishers.

You can just replace my name with your name (keep my address so the games come to me. haha! Just kidding! Put your name, not mine).

Well it's been a week now and no reply from Ubi. I wonder if I should call them.

Calling is a good thing though Ubisoft might be busy. But it is worth a try.

Hey, sorry I wasn't able to reply sooner: a sink burst in the house and we had water damage that shorted att the electrics in the house. So I had no internet for a bit, but the insurance company took care of everything and now I have internet access again.

GOOD NEWS:

Ubisoft sent me a game for review!! So I'll need to play it this week and then write something up for the site.

How do I capture screenshots & videos from my xbox?

That sucks, glad it is all fixed up. I can get the screenshots for the game etc, just write the review. But if you plan on doing it your self you need a "capture card".

Wow, just like that? What did the letter say? Can you PM me? I'd think it would be harder to ask a company for a game and for them just to send it to you.

Another thing, good quality capture cards are pretty expensive nowadays. Dazzle's are the cheapest brand but have very mediocre quality. A good one would be a Hauppauge HD PVR, however, those cost up to $200. You might have better luck just getting pictures online.

I don't know if this will be helpful, as I'm 2 months late.
